Peter L. Carr, IV

PETER LAURENCE CARR, IV is a founding partner at Sias | Carr, LLP, which he founded with business partner and friend Jason O. Sias in January of 2014. While the firm handles a variety of Federal and State legal matters from criminal defense to civil litigation, his primary focus is civil rights where he specializes in police misconduct.  Notably, Mr.Carr is lead counsel on lawsuits against the City of Los Angeles Police Department, the County of Los Angeles Sheriffs Department, the San Diego Police Department, the City of Indo Police Department, and the City of Riverside Police Department.

Prior to starting Sias | Carr, LLP, Mr. Carr was an associate at Ivie, McNeill & Wyatt, PLC, and a lawyer at Girardi | Keese.  Mr. Carr is a “Triple-Bruin” having received three degrees from UCLA: his undergraduate degree in Sociology (2003), and his MA and JD degrees (2007) from UCLA School of Law’s joint degree program with the Bunche Center for African American Studies.

Additionally, Mr. Carr has a deep commitment to the community. He currently serves as general counsel to UCLA’s Black Alumni Association and regularly volunteers at the First AME legal clinic, the National Action Network’s legal clinic, and is a panelist for community organizations on a variety of legal matters.
